Ambient Prose (`am·bē·ənt prōz), n. -- 1. a. Non-metered language formulated to convey moods, feelings, and ideas in lieu of discernable plot or chronicled events. b. A possible sub-genre characterized by dark metaphor as a literary device (esp. satiric). [See DARK AMBIENT.] 2. Non-verse exposition in one of various abstract forms (typ. minimalist). 3.
